CARDIOLOGY ASSOCIATES
OF NEW HAVEN SPECIALIST
RECEIVES AWARD FROM VNA OF SOUTH CENTRAL CT
Steven Wolfson,
MD, founding partner of Cardiology Associates of New Haven has been named recipient
of the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of South Central Connecticut’s Centennial
Home Care Partnership Award.
Joanne Walsh, President and CEO of the VNA said “the annual award has been given
by the VNA since 1999 to a physician who best exemplifies the ideals of partnership
in care”. The award is determined by a vote of the 60 clinical staff (including
nurses, physical therapists and social workers) of the VNA. Some of the reasons
given for selecting Dr. Wolfson include his philosophy of seeing the whole patient,
and his strong commitment to his patients shown by his passion for their care, and
his problem solving approach to delivering their care.
Dr. Wolfson, informed of the award, stated that it was particularly meaningful to
him because “nurses taught me Medicine during my training, and have been genuine
partners in everything I’ve accomplished since then.” The award will be presented
at the VNA’s Annual Community Dinner on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the Race
Brook Country Club, 246 Derby Avenue, Orange CT from 5:00 – 7:30.
